There are several steps involved in creating a website from scratch.  Here are some things to consider:
bullet Do you have a domain name (example: www.mydomain.com)?
bullet If not, we can help you secure one.

bullet Who will host the site?
bullet We can do that for you (please see our web hosting rates page) or you can have your site hosted on any server you choose.

bullet What is the purpose of the site?
bullet You should know what goals the site is supposed to accomplish.
bullet Some examples are advertising, sales, collecting data and disseminating news and information.

bullet Do you have an idea of how you'd like your site to look?
bullet Colors?  Layout?  Type of navigation?  Pictures you'd like used?
bullet These are all things that you should have some idea about before the design of your site begins.

bullet You should wait until after the initial design is done to ask the designer to make whatever changes are necessary.  We know this sounds like a "given" but we'd like to explain further.
bullet Some clients feel it necessary to make changes DURING the design process...OFTEN.  This is almost a GUARANTEE that you will NOT get what you want or that you will pay a LOT more than you need to.
bullet By doing this, you are distracting the designer from  finishing the initial design and directing his/her attention elsewhere.  You are not allowing them to focus on the job at hand.  This usually results in something being "forgotten" or left out.  9 times out of 10, it's something you REALLY wanted and something that is going to mean re-doing the majority of pages.  This will cost you a LOT more because it has to be done twice.

bullet When you make changes, KNOW what you want.
bullet Again, this sounds like a given, but we've had clients that have sent us changes to THEIR changes...4 and five times.
bullet This will cost you a LOT more than necessary.  "Trial & Error" always costs you more!
